Yeah, Dungen just sounds like a brutal death metal band or something–and then you add in the fact that they’re from Sweden, and it’s all like, Holy crap, this is gonna melt my face, broseph! Alas, poor soul, you’re just a meathead.

Turns out Dungen isn’t really all that scary. First off, their name has nothing to do with dungeons (or dragons); their name means “The Grove” in their native Swedish tongue. And their music is more trippy than dark. Take the above “Satt At Se” for example. Not only is music cool as shit, but the video matches it perfectly. Sure, you might have trouble understanding exactly what the band is saying, but nothing is lost in translation with those fuzzy, dirge-y guitar riffs.

And, in an intimate setting like The Loft, where the band will perform tomorrow night, these sounds are likely to only further speak to your soul. Especially if you can get in for free, which our friends at the Loft, have kindly allowed us to offer you. First five people to email me starting right now with the words “Dungen and Dragons” in the subject line each walk with a free pair of tickets to tomorrow night’s show. Good luck!

Update: Contest is over. Congrats to our winners!
