Last month, My Chemical Romance brought thousands to Globe Life Field in Arlington, transforming the massive baseball field into both the fictional fascist nation of Draag and an all-encompassing celebration of their seminal 2006 album, The Black Parade.
The acclaimed tour included an all-star selection of opening acts, including Idles, Alice Cooper and Wallows. In Arlington, underrated ‘90s rockers Garbage opened the show.
Just over a week after the North American dates wrapped up in Tampa, Florida, with special guest Evanescence, My Chemical Romance has announced another run of Black Parade dates in 2026. The second run of U.S. dates will begin on Aug. 9 in Queens and will return to Texas at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Sept. 12. The band will be supported in the Lone Star State by The Mars Volta, joining the tour alongside another crop of famous headliners, this time including Pierce The Veil, Iggy Pop and Sleater-Kinney.

Not to brag to our Texan neighbors, but we’ve already seen the show, and it’s spectacular. Beginning with The Black Parade in its entirety, lead singer Gerard Way arrives in full military regalia, parodying a fascist dictator (art imitates life, huh), kicking off an ultra-interactive stadium show where you watch the fall of a dystopian state through the eyes of its leader. Our writer Austin Zook likened Way’s character to “the demonic offspring of The Emcee from Cabaret and Heath Ledger’s Joker.” That’s hard to top.
The show was like a Broadway play on a stadium level, weaving in theatre to a rock show seamlessly. The crowd held an improper “election” deciding if the dictator should be put to death, a clown stabbed Way’s character to death and then detonated a suicide vest, and a group of criminals was executed by a firing squad.
It’s weird, but sometimes the best art is, and the thousands at Globe Life Field loved every second of it. We can only imagine that the reaction will be the same to the adoring fans in San Antonio as the Black Parade marches through Texas once again.
Relive some photos and get ready to welcome “The Black Parade” again.
