Let’s just face it; Texas heat can be brutal. Don’t even think about waiting until the sun goes down to take that long awaited walk outside with your pup, it’s still 95 degrees out there. No more midday bike rides, casual jogs or trips to the dog park. So what is there to do? Well, you could pamper yourself in honor of your pup at this year’s Dog Days of Summer event. The afternoon of food, fun, and silent auctions benefiting The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas will feature executive chef Chris Ward leading a number of cooking demonstrations. Ward will present dishes like pepper crusted sirloin and shrimp ceviche. Dog Days will unleash this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at The Mercury, 11909 Preston Rd., Ste. 1418. Tickets are $55 for GALT members and $80 for non-members. For more information, visit mcrowd.com.
