In the rolling hills of Grandview, Texas, just shy of an hour south of Dallas-Fort Worth, a new kind of escape is taking shape.
Ferncrest Chambers Creek, a luxury glampground set to open in early 2026, promises to be a haven for those seeking a blend of nature, comfort and connection. But this isn’t just another glamping destination — it’s the culmination of a dream shared by an extraordinary couple, Chris and Lauren Jackson.
Chris, a former Fear Factor champion who once stared down million-dollar challenges, and Lauren, the reigning Mrs. Texas International 2025 and an advocate for those with alopecia, are no strangers to overcoming obstacles. Their latest adventure, however, is less about personal triumphs and more about creating a legacy. Together, they’re transforming 12 acres of family land into a retreat that invites guests to unplug, recharge and connect.
A Glimpse of What’s to Come
Ferncrest Chambers Creek will debut with 10 geodesic domes, each carefully nestled among the trees to offer privacy and comfort. These domes are more than just accommodations — they’re an invitation to immerse yourself in the beauty of the land. Shady groves, starlit skies and creekside trails set the stage for a truly magical experience. We do everything bigger in Texas, after all.
The amenities are equally enticing. Guests can look forward to wood-fired hot tubs, cold plunges and saunas designed to rejuvenate the body and soul. A camp store stocked with essentials and local favorites will ensure that every stay is as seamless as it is memorable. And for those who love to explore, winding trails and wildflower gardens will provide endless opportunities for adventure.

The Story Behind the Dream
The Jacksons’ journey to Ferncrest Chambers Creek is as inspiring as the destination itself. As Chris shared in a video on their website, the land has been in his family for decades, waiting for its purpose to be revealed.
“It’s been a dream for years to create a space where people can come together, get away from the city and enjoy nature,” he says.

Lauren, whose platform as Mrs. Texas International has been dedicated to empowering others, brings her own unique perspective to the project. Her work with Wigs for Kids and her efforts to normalize hair loss have allowed her opportunities to lead with compassion. Together, the couple embodies the spirit of transformation by turning challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality.
Though Ferncrest Chambers Creek is being headed by the Jacksons, the concept is part of a franchise partnership that includes similar glampgrounds under a larger Ferncrest banner. However, Chris and Lauren maintain that their site will still be rooted in its Texas heritage, as their website states, “Every decision, every detail, and every story will be uniquely ours.”
Why Ferncrest Matters
What sets Ferncrest Chambers Creek apart is its accessibility. Located just an hour from the ever-growing hustle and bustle of the urban sprawl of DFW, the campground offers the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. It’s far enough to feel like a true escape, yet close enough for a spontaneous weekend getaway.
The land itself is a hidden gem of natural beauty. With its hilly terrain, water features and rich history (including an old bridge from the 1890s), it’s a place that invites exploration and wonder. As Chris puts it, “This isn’t Yosemite or Jackson Hole — it’s something uniquely Texan, and it’s ours.”

“This land has been in our family for decades,” Chris and Lauren write in a personal note on their website. “Watching it transform into Ferncrest Chambers Creek is nothing short of incredible. By signing up, you’re not just following along — you’re stepping into the story with us.”
So, mark your calendars for early 2026. Whether you’re a couple looking to reconnect, a family eager to unplug or friends seeking a greener getaway, Ferncrest Chambers Creek is poised to be the escape you didn’t know you needed.
