Nothing kills a movie faster than Paris Hilton. That’s why Repo! The Genetic Opera didn’t even make it onto my radar. But now that the rock opera is edging into Rocky Horror territory, it’s worth giving a second chance. Amber Does Dallas, an evolving local performance company, is performing a shadowcast of Repo! tomorrow at The Lakewood Theater. If you’ve ever been to a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, it’s the same concept: the cast will act out the movie as it plays on the big screen. The fun begins when the cast interacts with the audience. Because, as Amber Does Dallas says on its Web site, “Repo! isn’t exactly PG.” The plot is way too involved to get into here, but suffice it to say it involves the sale and repossession of organs. Date night! The show starts at midnight tomorrow at The Lakewood Theater, located at 1825 Abrams Parkway. Tickets for ages 21 and up are $10, or $15 for anyone under 21. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, check out amberdoesdallas.com.
