$10,000

Field trips to the planetarium always inspired big dreams. There were the dreams of a hand touch while sitting in the dark next to that certain someone, looking at projected stars. And, of course, there were the dreams of being hurled into outer space with your alien buddy, becoming a hero, learning the meaning of life and rescuing that certain someone from extraterrestrial bad guys. Give those seventh-grade fantasies a little satisfaction by watching The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy at Movie Night at the Planetarium. The Planetarium at UT Arlington (700 Planetarium Place) is now showing movies throughout the week for $2 a ticket. They’re starting things off appropriately with a sci-fi lineup, including this week’s Hitchhiker’s Guide, showing at 6 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday. For more information contact the UT Arlington Planetarium at 817-272-1183 or planetarium@uta.edu.
