Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $12,500 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
Run On!, organizers of this Sunday’s 5K and 15K, are not trying to fool anyone – they’re keenly aware of the weather this time of year, how brutally hot it often is and how undesirable that can be. However, rather than running from it in a mad dash to obtain air conditioning, they’re running in it. Keeping the weather in mind, the folks at the Dallas-based running shop aptly named the event Too Hot To Handle. Both the 5K and 15K (seriously, 15 THOUSAND meters?!) get started at White Rock Lake’s Norbuck Park at 7:30am, with an awards show to follow later in the morning. If attending, it certainly couldn’t hurt to start hydrating now. For more information, check out runontexas.com or call 214-821-0909.
