Noted photographer Diane Arbus once said, “A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you, the less you know.” Chew on that for a while, and while you are chewing, head to Garland to test out the theory. Through August 30, the Granville Arts Center Gallery, 300 N. Fifth St. in Garland, shows an exhibit of photographs by John Hall, May Beth Smith and several others. Through the Eye of a Camera includes 75 photographs, showing everything from local scenes to a Hawaiian sunset. The Granville Arts Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
At the Dallas Observer, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $14,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of the Dallas Observer, now’s the time to give back.
