Peabo Bryson. The name may elude some younger readers. Hell, the name “Peabo” is weird enough by itself. It almost sounds like a medical condition. “We’re sorry, Mrs. Jones, your husband has an advanced case of peabo. There’s nothing we can do…” But the smooth, “quiet storm” voice of Mr. Bryson is very familiar to ears of kids from 8 to 80. He was most famous for his many duets with female R&B singers throughout the early ’80s. His 1983 duet with the incomparable Roberta Flack, “Tonight I Celebrate My Love,” was a smash hit among the candlelit, sweet lovemaking set, the perfect soundtrack for a night of secret, dark caresses. In more recent years, he has been recognized for his Grammy-winning duets with Celine Dion and Regina Belle, both from Disney mega-hit animated film soundtracks. Come taste the magic Friday at the Music Hall at Fair Park. Visit ticketmaster.com.
