The Asian Film Festival of Dallas opens its 11th year on Thursday, July 12, and will include one world movie premiere, seven North American premieres and numerous filmmakers in attendance. That’s followed by the Texas premiere of Takashi Miike’s (of Ichi the Killer and 13 Assassins fame) video game-based courtroom drama, Ace Attorney, about a world where trials are treated like the Super Bowl, which screens at the Magnolia Theater at 8:30 p.m. The opening party is open to the public but requires RSVP. Tickets to Ace Attorney cost $12.50. The Stoneleigh Hotel is located at 2927 Maple Avenue; the Magnolia is at 3699 McKinney Avenue. For more information, visit asianfilmdallas.com.
