Drop the words “naked girls” when discussing your weekend plans, and your friends are sure to think you’re hitting up Harry Hines or spending your Friday night skulking in the X-rated corners of the Interwebs. In most cases, they’re probably right, unless you’re describing to them the fascinating, albeit unusual, live show, Naked Girls Reading. Debuting in March of this year, Naked Girls is an event that seeks to unleash the sensuality and spirituality created by women reading whilst in the nude. Past readings have included poetry and rock lyrics; the tour stop in Dallas will be themed “Bed Time Stories,” its list including Grimm Fairy Tales and sleepy poems from Edward Hirsch and Anne Sexton. Be a happy viewer on Friday, at Quixotic World Theater, 1116 S. Akard St. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Check nakedgirlsreadingdallas.wordpress.com for further details, or for information about possibly being a Naked Girl yourself (!!). BYOB, the invite says–although it’s unclear whether that means bring your own beer or bring your own boner.
