The amphibians are kicking it one-on-one at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Nature Place in McKinney, as an animal education specialist breaks down the animal kingdom’s most impressive hybrid for kids of all ages. The specialist will showcase toads, frogs, salamanders and sirens in a live presentation and will also read a story about the animals. In the month of January, the museum will also feature several other programs including night hiking (wasn’t that the title of an R.E.M. song?), trail-guide training and a Spring Moppet science class. Catch the live amphibian presentation and accompanying story next Thursday.

Thu., Jan. 19, 10 a.m.
