Go make some Mexican arts and crafts! It’s a matter of life and death! Really! Well, sort of. You won’t be saving the world, dismantling a bomb or saving a life or anything, but if you go to the “Life and Death” workshop you’ll have the chance to think about that stuff while making traditional Mexican crafts. The workshop is free and artists Rosalba and Cesar Morales will teach students how to turn clay into symbols of life (the tree of life) and death (skeletons). The free class runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak, Dallas. Ages 12 and up are welcome. Call 214-671-0045 to register.

Thu., Sept. 23, 7-9 p.m., 2010
