Art can be made as easily as folding a piece of paper into some sort of origami-type shape or coloring a page in a coloring book and hanging it on a wall or fridge for your mom to see. Basically, an artist doesn’t have to be a well-known painter or student at a prestigious college, majoring in sculpture. The next Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol or Jackson Pollock might even be living on the streets. The Stewpot Art Program has dedicated the month of September to welcoming professional artists as well as aspiring artists looking for a safe place to create their masterpiece. The public is invited to view, donate or even purchase some of the work created by the Stewpot Artists, on view in the Goodrich Gallery–located in the First United Methodist Church at 1928 Ross Ave. For more information on the show or The Stewpot’s mission, call 214-746-2785 or visit thestewpot.org.
