I’m not sure you can judge an art exhibit by its name, but calling a Miami-themed showcase of paintings and collages “say hello to my little friend…” is pure genius. The catch line of Brian De Palma’s classic Scarface has been repeated so often on SportsCenter and the like that it has almost—almost—lost its punch. But just watch Scarface again and try to figure out how Al Pacino has you rooting for his scum-of-the-earth character even after he kills his best friend—and then listen to the line one more time. It still works. As for the art exhibit, the event’s Web site depicts a range of cool-looking prints, dynamic, colorful paintings and bizarre video installations. You can also catch a public video project from Mary Benedicto that features Victory Park. Mojitos will be served. “say hello to my little friend…” opens with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Plush, 1222 Commerce St., Suite 403. The exhibit runs until November 14. Call 214-498-5423.
Sat., Oct. 21, 6-9 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: Oct. 21. Continues through Nov. 14
