If there is one universal truth about Texans of all stripes, regardless of political leaning, social status and demographic background, it’s that we love Texas. Like, really love it — almost as much as we love our Mamas and possibly even more than our reproductive organs. This fall, we get to bask in the atavistic sexiness of the Dallas Historical Society’s Texas! exhibit at Fair Park. Call it statehood porn, if you will. The free exhibit runs through December 4. Commemorating the state’s 175th birthday, Texas! features authentic historical items from guns and knives to Sam Houston’s handwritten report of the Battle of San Jacinto. If that doesn’t get you hot and bothered, what will? The Hall of State, located at 3939 Grand Ave., is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
