Some actors spend years honing their craft on camera waiting for a career-defining role. Don Johnson is the exception. Forget Miami Vice. Forget Dead Bang. Forget Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man. Johnson’s talent exploded like a nuclear bomb in 1975’s bizarrely hilarious A Boy and His Dog, and it’s been downhill ever since. This post-apocalyptic black comedy is filled with murder, rape, cannibalism and telepathic animals. What more could you ask for? This is a one-of-a-kind cult classic that will stick to the ribs of your mind. Let’s just hope that it doesn’t get remade with Colin Farrell as the boy and Jamie Foxx as the dog. That would only spoil the magic. Check it out midnight Friday and Saturday at Landmark’s Inwood Theatre, 5458 W. Lovers Lane. Visit landmarktheatres.com.
