With more than 250 artists and craftsmen displaying and demonstrating their work, ARTFEST 2007 truly lives up to this year’s theme: “Art for Everyone.” What may seem like “just another craft show” (albeit an extremely oversized one) to the untrained eye of the jaded passer-by is actually a treasure trove of talent and an opportunity for the patient and diligent art lover to find “that one perfect update” for their collection. (Though most in attendance will just be happy if they find a new conversation piece for their living room coffee table.) ARTFEST for Kids features an educational architect-designed city-building exercise where kids can decorate buildings as part of the larger jigsaw city. Scheduled musical entertainment includes 15-year-old vocalist Kelci Paige and ubiquitous festival attendees Brave Combo. ARTFEST 2007 begins with a Wine Stroll Preview Party from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Stroll admission is $15. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Addison Circle Park, 15650 Addison Road. Tickets are $6 each day for adults, free for children 5 and under, $10 for a weekend pass. Call 214-565-0200 or visit artfest500.com.
Sat., May 26, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., May 27, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Mon., May 28, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
