There’s a certain irony in receiving a black-and-white press release for a one-night-only art event from a gallery with a mission of providing space for eclectic art. Well, there is a little blue on it. I’m hoping for a more colorful display at Mighty Fine Arts’ Big as Night. And I probably won’t be disappointed—they are packing it all in with art and installations by 22 artists and special attractions featuring White Trash Delight and Pajama Party at the Clubhouse. As if that’s not enough already, the gallery’s also using the event to open the new exhibit, Traces, featuring the works of Jo-Ann Mulroy. With words such as “elegant,” “poetry,” “lucidity” and “transcendence” describing her work, I expect a full-on enchantment by her art. We’ll just have to see. Big as Nighttakes place Saturday at the Tyler Street Lofts, 411 N. Tyler St., from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Traces runs through October 23 and is located next door in the Might Fine Arts Gallery, 407 N. Tyler St. Call 214-972-5241 or visit mfagallery.com.

Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: Sept. 23. Continues through Oct. 23
