The last circus I went to was not much of a circus at all. Whoever decided throwing laser lights, near naked bimbos and gruesome tricks under a striped tent equaled circus…well, he or she never saw the real thing. When I go to the big tent, I want the real stuff! The Moslah Shrine out of Forth Worth is restoring the show’s good name and presenting a traditional circus for inner (and outer) children everywhere. This year is the 67th Annual Shrine Circus at Will Rogers Coliseum. Expect the real stuff: Big cat acts, bear acts, elephant acts, high-wire acts and more. The family-centered fun runs Friday through October 17 (and on October 12 and 13, school teachers, military, fire, police personnel and their families get in for free with a photo ID to the 7 p.m. show.) Tickets range from $15 to $20. For more information, call 817-335-9469 or visit moslahshrinecenter.org.
