While the weather is not quite curl-up-next-to-the-fireplace-with-hot-cider yet, the time is never better to restock your bookshelves with the latest novel by Merritt Tierce. A native Texan and award-winning attendee of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Tierce returns to her roots in this release. Entitled Love Me Back, the novel centers around a young woman, Marie, finding her place as a steakhouse waitress, trying to make it in the brash culture of Dallas. Balancing bills, bodies and pills, we follow Marie’s rough initiation into gritty, modern adulthood. Tierce will be reading selections from her novel as well as signing copies at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Wild Detectives (314 W 8th St. ). More information at merritttierce.com.
