$10,000

Lately, when I’m at art galleries, I find myself thinking, “This piece would be so much better if it had skulls. Or birds. Or birds perched on skulls.” I must not be the only one. Through Saturday, the visionaries at Kettle Art are hosting Birds vs. Skulls, a 58-piece showcase of these kick-ass, underrepresented subjects. At long last, people like me can leave a gallery feeling fully satisfied knowing artists explored every avenue of bird/skull-related issues. Maybe next month they’ll get around to settling the longstanding quarrel between pirates and ninjas. Kettle Art is located at 2714 Elm St. Gallery hours are 7 to 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. Visit kettleart.com.

Thursdays-Saturdays, 7-10 p.m. Starts: April 2. Continues through April 11, 2009
