Every year, I threaten to attend the All Texas All Garden Show with Neil Sperry to learn once and for all if it is really possible to grow a tasty Texas homegrown tomato. Then I look at my shameful yard and realize that the last thing I need is more stuff to wither. This year may be different, however. I may make it to the Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way, not to learn how to grow but how to kill, kill, kill the mulberry trees that have sprouted along my fence. Dow’s best poisons, salt, gasoline, a machete and even urine (don’t ask) have not halted the Vampire Trees That Wouldn’t Die, so maybe Neil will have a tip. The rest of you can get info on growing, xeriscaping and garden products Friday through Sunday. General admission is $8, $7 for old people; kids under 12 get in for free. Call 1-800-654-1480 or visit texashomeandgarden.com.

Fri., Feb. 23; Sat., Feb. 24; Sun., Feb. 25
