Working in a gallery, you’re surrounded by products of other people’s inspiration, but it’s rare you get to make a truly inspired choice yourself. So the current pairing of exhibits at the Irving Arts Center–Looking In: Earth From Space together with Looking Out: Space From Earth–is especially impressive. This is the Mona Lisa of curatorial moves. It’s a Hendrix riff, a Jordan jump shot at the buzzer. Looking In features high-resolution NASA photos of forests, volcanoes and river systems around the world, while Looking Out features two dozen shots of galaxies, solar flares and even a Martian sunset, seen by robotic cameras right here on Earth. The free show runs through July 26 at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd.
