The Creative Arts Theater and School (CATS) in Arlington, which puts on productions using all-kid casts and crews, presents a show for the whole family. Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf is a madcap adventure based on two stories everyone knows–The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood–and features three pigs, a Canadian woodsman and Cornelius B.B. Wolf searching for something to eat and blowing things down all the way. I think it makes perfect sense to do this–considering what may or may not be the same guy in two separate tales, why not explore his character doing it all at once? An innovative take on the all-too-familiar, this play should have everyone looking at traditions in a brand-new light. The old and outmoded is new again! Also, this show is a total bargain at just $6 a pop. Shows are at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, August 7, with an additional 7 p.m. performance August 7. Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
At the Dallas Observer, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $14,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of the Dallas Observer, now’s the time to give back.
