Sure, Bass Hall hosts masters of the musical craft on a regular basis, but rarely does that craft involve boxes of cereal, paint-drenched drums or even a giant percussive PVC slide whistle. Who else but The Blue Man Group has such oddball mastery? This bizarre musical performance troupe rose to popularity in the ’90s and have since become pop-culture icons with their bald and blue getups, their silent act and their wild array of alien, homemade instruments. Their shows, for the uninitiated, are more performance than they are avant-garde. By coupling audience participation and comedic elements with their street-music roots, the group makes for a strange, messy and fun act. The Blue Man Group takes the stage Tuesday through July 1 at the Bass Performance Hall, Fort Worth. Tickets begin at $38.50. Prices and showtimes vary. Call 817-212-4280 or visit basshall.com for details.

First Friday, Saturday of every month, 8 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., July 1, 7 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: June 1. Continues through July 1, 2012
