Bo Burnham taped his first of two Comedy Central specials four days after his 18th birthday. Four days after turning 18. That made him the youngest performer to tape a Comedy Central special and therefore public enemy number one to my former high school self. Then I watched his stand-up and both versions of me were won over within minutes. He opened with “My ex-girlfriend had a really weird fetish, she liked to dress up as herself and then act like a fucking bitch all the time.” Then came his take on a Yo Momma joke — “Your mother’s breasts sag with such severity that the late, great surrealist artist Salvador Dali mistook them for clocks.” Damn. Fine arts burn. If you want to see his hard-hitting jokes in action along with a few autobiographical songs he wrote and performs, swing by the Majestic Theatre (1925 Elm St.) at 8 p.m. Friday.
