$10,000

Today, Ty Pennington is best known as the host of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where he shouts through a megaphone and makes people cry the saltiest, most joyful tears of their lives. But that’s not the only spotlight to have shone on this Sears-lovin’ handyman. Back in the day, he was famous for being the goofy carpenter on the greatest cheap-home-remodeling show TLC has ever aired (and that’s a lot of competition), Trading Spaces. He used to strut onscreen wearing that saggy tool belt over his distressed jeans (did he invent those?) and craft custom closets like nobody’s business. Well, get ready, old school TLC fans, because Ty himself will be appearing onstage at the Great Big Texas Home Show, going on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Cowboys Stadium, 1 Legends Way in Arlington. In addition to Mr. Pennington, the show will feature over 500 home and gardening experts, plus all the newest gadgets and goodies. Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for children (ages 6 to 12) and free for the tiny kiddies. For tickets and more information, visit greatbigtexashomeshow.com.
