Spring break is a major calendar destination for kids, marked in big letters in the middle of March and anticipated with an unparalleled zeal. Then you grow up, and spring break means trying to arrange child care or convince your offspring that staying home all day and watching The Muppet Show DVDs is every bit as cool as the ski trip to Taos that their friends are taking. As such, spring break means that you will soon need your very own break. Probably with wine. The Dallas Arts District Spring Break Block Party offers just such a getaway. Sure, you could take your kids, but alone time with a pre-reserved picnic basket at the Nasher Sculpture Center, 2001 Flora St., and other goodies from the on-site café might be just the ticket. Live music from Decades kicks off at 7 p.m. and at 9 there’s a showing of Labyrinth. Sit back in the sculpture garden and raise a glass to the Goblin King. It’s good to get away.
