Oh, the strange cultural magnetism of 50 Shades of Grey. The E.L. James trilogy, which tells the story of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey and their kinky relationship, surpassed sales of the Harry Potter series in the UK last year. There was never any question it would be made into a movie, and while Sam Taylor-Johnson has been tapped to direct, the two leads are still under wild speculation. So, of course there is a 50 Shades of Grey parody, and it’s coming to the Majestic Theatre (1925 Elm St.). Spank! promises to have your “inner goddess laughing out loud,” and will also feature musical numbers and a striptease from Christian Grey. So, basically, this is the new bachelorette party? The production also smartly cautions that it is “not associated with, nor authorized by, author E.L. James or Vintage Press.” Ladies’ night runs through July 13. All shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $50. Visit spankshow.com.
