For the most part, famous artwork has been relegated to one predominant medium: canvas. However, American Moderns on Paper, an exhibit set to begin at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth on Saturday, dares to suggest that perhaps some of the finest and most pioneering works of American avant-garde artists such as Georgia O’Keefe and John Marin are actually on paper, not canvas. This exhibit will feature more than 100 works on paper that span 50 years in American art history, including neo-Romantics and surrealists whose art is also a prominent feature of that period. This will be the inaugural venue for this remarkable exhibit, which runs through May 30. The Amon Carter Museum is located at 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth. Admission is free. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
