$10,000

If missing out on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is still depressing you, follow the old British rule: Mind the yap. Celebrate all things dog, and vaguely British, at the Royal Wags Pawty at Hotel Palomar from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. With $20 donations for admission benefiting Paws in the City, Royal Wags will feature English nibbles crafted by chef Graham Dodds of Central 214, themed cocktails from mixologist Amber West, prizes (yes, for pet costumes — preferably of the British variety), pawdicures, puppy massages, pet adoptions and more. Higgins, the hotel’s new “director of pet relations” will preside over all of the events and make sure that your beloved four-legged friend is having the time of its life. All of this is almost as crazy as collecting William & Kate china, but way more fun and delicious. Hotel Palomar is located at 5300 E. Mockingbird Lane. RSVP to beverly.ensslen@hotelpalomar.com.
