The 15th Annual Don’t Believe the Hype Celebrity Bowl-a-thon continues the event’s long tradition of raising money for black charities and organizations like the Africa Care Academy, the Emmett Till Foundation, the Texas Black Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Journalists scholarship fund. Past bowlers have included Ron Kirk (210), John Wiley Price (64), Chuck D. (150), John McCaa (98) and Clarice Tinsley (197). (OK, so we made the scores up, but admit it, Kirk and Clarice look like they can roll.) The event goes down from 6 p.m. to midnight this Saturday at USA Bowl, 10920 Composite Drive.
