If I had to pick between being a Hank Williams impersonator and being an Elvis Presley impersonator, I’d have to go with Hank Williams. After all, the Elvis market is saturated, man. Jason Petty made the same choice some time back, doing eight years of research with Hank’s family, band members and friends as he practiced spot-on versions of classics like “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Kaw-Liga” and “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” (admittedly, he might have learned that last one just to hedge his bets). Monday night he takes the stage at Bass Performance Hall (4th and Calhoun Streets in Fort Worth) for Hank and My Honky-Tonk Heroes, a show which features not only his best Hank but also his best Roy, Ernest, Webb, Jimmie and George.
