Excited about going to the Hippie Circus this year? No, not the one at your freaky in-laws’ “ranch” out in the country. That’s no circus. That’s just illegal in most states. The Hippie Circus is an evening of retro music and fun with an MC who is famous for wearing out-of-date clothing and hairstyles: Beatle Bob. And to think, your own crappy fashion sense has gone ignored all these years! How very unfair. Hippies get all the breaks. Heck, they got to have sex without fear of catching the dreaded El Herpeso. Now you can’t even look at a tub of Carmex without getting the shakes. Yes, it seems all the world is against you. But it’s always fun to pretend you’re running on flower power, if only for an evening at the Hippie Circus at the Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Parkway, featuring the classic sounds of Billie Joe Shine and the Nightcaps, Marc Benno and the Neo Night Crawlers and more. Just don’t keep pretending after the itching starts. You’re going to need to get that checked out, friend. Hippie Circus tickets are $20 to $60, and the show starts at 7 p.m. Saturday.
