If you don’t have kids or live on a block where the neighborhood kids don’t throw eggs at the houses that don’t give out candy on Halloween, then the best way to enjoy Halloween is by going to a theater for a good, old fashioned horror movie. The Alamo Drafthouse (501 W. Belt Line Rd.) knows how to do Halloween because they have a collection of films that goes beyond the modern torture porn that’s only scary if you have a belly full of food and a weak constitution. Their annual “Dismember the Alamo” movie fest at noon on Saturday, Oct. 25th will feature four secret horror movie screenings of classics that are sure to be on everyone’s horror movie night list. The evening will also feature short, pre-movie screenings of rare horror gems, a costume contest with special prizes and plenty of other surprises that are sure to keep you up at night. Tickets are $20 and available at drafthouse.com/dfw.
