The Nasher Sculpture Center continues its 360 Series this Saturday, bringing in a one-two punch of gifted sculptures, painters, and collage-ers in Aaron Curry and Thomas Houseago. The 360 Series represents a conversation with featured artists about the ever-expanding world of contemporary art, while Curry and Houseago represent two bad-ass innovative artists whose work is currently featured at the Nasher. Texas-born Curry’s work is based around colorful, flashy modern art infused with cultural references aplenty. English expat Houseago, on the other hand, is a sculpture artist noted for his use of ‘lo-fi’ material–plaster, plywood, etc.–in producing avant-garde works ranging from the wacky and bombastic to more gloomy, rainy-day works. The series is free with admission to the Nasher, which ranges from $5 to $10. We’d highly suggest you make reservations, as seating is limited and–here’s the kicker–free wine for all those who make reservations! The conversation with the two artists begins at 1 p.m. For more information on the 360 series, the featured artists and makin’ reservations, check out nashersculpturecenter.org.
