Dollar Store Dropout Good People is a play written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire and it’s loaded with more plot twists than a Maury Show. The story starts with our star and Boston Southie, Margie Walsh, losing her job at a Dollar Store. All time low point? Not so fast. Margie reaches out to a former flame and fellow Southie, Mike, who’s a doctor now. She doesn’t want a handout, just a job, but things go awry when she’s invited to a party that’s suspiciously cancelled at the last minute. Margie charges over to Mike’s loaded with an armful of “How could yous?” and that’s when things get interesting. She meets his wife, confessions are made, the past haunts them all and then there’s a Bingo game. Head to the Water Tower Theater, 15650 Addison Road, at 7:30 p.m. Monday to see how it turns out. Tickets are $20 and available at watertowertheater.org. The show runs through June 29.
Mon., June 9, 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: June 9. Continues through June 29, 2014
