Dallas’ Continental Gin Building (3309 Elm St.) is a creative stronghold, a rented crashpad for ideas by artists of every medium. There you’ll find the studio of local geometric head-game trickster, Ricardo Paniagua; the workspace of seduction-ready clothing line Status; and the 20-year painting quarters of oil artist Bob Nunn, plus the workrooms of at least a dozen other designers of every style and method. Continental Gin, which is listed on the city’s registry of historic buildings, just rolls deep in talent — and we’re all better because of that. For one weekend each spring, the studio doors blow open, converting the area into a party/shopping/meet-and-greet space, and if you haven’t guessed by now: Yes, this is that weekend. Pop over from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday to meet Deep Ellum’s most wanted. Then, go back on Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. to see it all again in the daylight. Visit cgbartistsstudios.net.
