The man with the most distinctive voice in comedy defines the concept of a “comic’s comic.” Gilbert Gottfried did more than just spend a lifetime doing comedy and spending a season or two on Saturday Night Live. He stuck to his comedy no matter where his career took him through roles in mainstream movies like Beverly Hills Cop, Aladdin and Problem Child and his voiceover career as the Aflac Duck, a job that his comedy would cost him thanks to a funny, ill-timed series of jokes about Japan’s earthquake and tsunami in 2011. That may have cost him a few paychecks but it gives audiences more chances to see him live where his love of dirty, tasteless jokes aren’t harness by a humorless corporation. He’ll be at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub in Dallas at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6th. Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub is located at 5321 East Mockingbird Dr.

Sat., Sept. 6, 8 p.m., 2014
