Now that the season of incredibly emotional charity commercials has closed, we’re feeling pretty good about the opportunity to give locally with a smile, swollen heart and, most important, an empty stomach. Café Momentum helps the at-risk youth of our city by providing culinary training, a real-world skill set and valuable job opportunities. The organization offers a special pop-up dinner Sunday at Driftwood (642 W. Davis St. in Oak Cliff) with guest chef Omar Flores. Now, this dinner is sold out, but you can add your Hancock to the wait list on Eventbrite. Or, because waiting for doing good is lame, you can add that name, then donate to Café Momentum now at cafemomentum.org, and keep your eyes open and mouse finger ready for the on-sale date of the next dinner.
