! Let’s face it—reading ain’t easy, and you can work up quite an appetite trying to get through the latest book Oprah told you to read. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could have your prose and eat it too, without all those nasty paper cuts on your tongue? Luckily, the University of North Texas is here to help with its annualEdible Book Festival
from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Rare Book Room of UNT’s Willis Library. Fans of literature, culinary delights and cutesy puns unite! The event features dishes inspired by literary works or made in the shape of a book, and anyone can enter his/her masterpiece for a $2 fee. Participants will vote for the most creative entry, as well as the tastiest, and even if you don’t bring a dish, you can chow down on the library of deliciousness for just $5. The festival is held to stir up interest in libraries and UNT’s Rare Book Room, and proceeds from the event will go to the UNT Rare Book and Texana Collections.
