You might think Leahy is a tie-dyed jam band fronted by beloved Vermont Senator (and noted Deadhead) Patrick Leahy, touring the land in a biodiesel VW bus and rocking out against the evils of illegal government wire-tapping. But you’d be wrong, since Leahy is actually a Celtic pop band comprised of eight Ontario siblings—Donnell, Erin, Angus, Maria, Siobheann, Agnes, Doug and Frank—renowned for their instrumental prowess and traditional step-dancing. The siblings first toured together in the early ’80s—they were even the subject of an Academy Award-winning student doc in 1985—and have been on the road on and off ever since, spreading watered-down Celtic music like SARS to the masses. Catch the Celtic Canucks 8 p.m. Friday in the Hill Performance Hall of the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson. Tickets are $20 to $50.
