We could make a pretty good case for the piano as the world’s most beloved instrument. It’s one of the few instruments that so easily transitions from jazz to classical, from group to soloist, and they a beautiful grand piano can be a marvelous work of art. But we’re not here to argue favorite instruments, but to talk about one Emanuel Ax who will be playing striking the keys this weekend at the Meyerson Symphony Center. He’ll be playing the Mozart Piano Concert No. 14 with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Thursday – Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The program also includes Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 8.
