Unless you’re immersed in the urban erotic poetry scene or a fan of HBO’s Real Sex you probably aren’t familiar with Jessica Holter, activist, author and founder of The Punany Poets theatre company. Curious Dallasites can finally get a taste of Punany 8 p.m. Saturday when Holter brings her show The Head Doctor to Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts Theatre Center (215 S. Tyler St.) The program promises 30 minutes of Q&A foreplay before slipping into an interactive, grown and sexy exploration of Black love via “comedy, poetry, exotic dance,” and “artistic nudity.” Based on Youtube videos of previous events it’s kind of like if your mom’s single friends got tipsy and held a poetry slam at La Bare. Think Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed only with more mic fellating and quiet storm beats. Needless to say this one’s strictly Adults Only.
