There is something frighteningly awesome about the mind of Martin McDonagh. The British playwright, known for his black humor and sometimes disturbing story lines (see the award-winning The Pillowman) recently graced the world with his first feature film, In Bruges, but now local audiences get to see McDonagh’s work the way it was meant to be seen as Second Thought Theatre presents A Skull in Connemara, the story of a man hired to exhume a certain section of a cemetery, one which contains his late wife (who died under suspicious circumstances). Check out this Thursday’s performance at 7:30 p.m. (with additional performances Thursdays through Sundays until January 17) at the Studio Theatre of the Addison Theatre Centre, 15650 Addison Road. Tickets are $20. Call 972-450-6232 or visit secondthoughttheatre.com.
Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Jan. 1. Continues through Jan. 18, 2009
