Would you believe that Texas has the second highest rate of hungry children in the United States? Would you believe that the North Texas Food Bank provided almost 45 million meals to the hungry in 2011? Whether you believe it or not, it’s all true. And it’s why Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is hosting its second annual Gimme Five Food Drive to Fight Hunger in the Metroplex. From Sunday, November 4, to Thursday, November 8, visitors to the Believe It or Not! Grand Prairie Odditorium can get discounted admission to the world of the weird and unbelievable just by turning over five non-perishable food items. Donate five cans or boxes of food (soup, tuna, cereal, pasta, baby food and more) to the North Texas Food Bank and get admission to see the prime Ripley’s WTFs for just $5. The Grand Prairie Odditorium is located at 601 East Palace Parkway. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. Visit ripleys.com and ntfb.org.
