In association with Klyde Warren Park’s second anniversary celebration, the Dallas Opera is presenting their second annual Opening Night Simulcast in the Park. This year’s offering is Mozart’s comedic masterpiece The Marriage of Figaro. The Dallas Opera’s performance (live from The Winspear Opera House) will be projected onto two large, hi-def LED screens, with lawn seating available on a first-come-first-served basis. The audience is encouraged to come dressed in their worst bridesmaid gowns; special prizes will be awarded to the especially heinous—an opportunity to attend the First Night after party, alongside the cast, is also up for grabs. Additional prizes and a showing of the Three Stooges’ opera-themed short Micro-Phonies round out what is sure to be a memorable event. The festivities begin at 6:30 PM, with the performance to follow at 8. There is no charge for admission.
