Friday is shaping up to be one hell of a night. For those of you not de-evolving with DEVO or watching Sam Jackson arm-wrestle snakes, consider this: a date with the “Devil.” Southern Rock legend Charlie Daniels (and his band) will play at the Silverado Ranch in Irving, to the delight of NASCAR fans everywhere. Judging from my brief read of Charlie’s “Soap Box” rants on charliedaniels.com, I’m guessing the crowd won’t contain too many illegal aliens or “libernuts,” Daniels’ nickname for liberal Americans. The venue encourages the audience to BYOB, although oddly, no non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. I guarantee any drinking game based on finding ribbon-shaped magnets in the parking lot will result in instant alcohol poisoning. See the Charlie Daniels Band 7 p.m. Friday at Silverado Ranch, 101 N. Rogers Road in Irving. Tickets are $25 to $40. Call 1-888-512-7469 or visit frontgatetickets.com.
