Great artwork is about pulling off the unexpected, like pairing a cute pair of wedges with fatigue pants or throwing a litter of baby ferrets off a high-rise balcony. Nobody expects it to rain baby ferrets. But that would be sick, so maybe it’s better to stick to the predictable. Buying food at the grocery store. Cashing checks at the bank. Waking up next to that guy from sales—again. Hey, instead of just spending the night together, you guys could go out for once. See some art, like, at a place where they show art. Like the Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre, which is currently producing—shock of shocks—Art. That’s the name of the play, and it’s about friends arguing over a painting. Performances are at 830 Parker Square in Flower Mound. The show opens Thursday with showtimes at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through June 25. Tickets are $20 to $31. Call 972-724-2147.
